Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh has expressed confidence and optimism in the leadership ability of the youths in the Niger Delta.
The Special Adviser made the remark during the 50th Convocation ceremony of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana where 19 beneficiaries of the Amnesty Programme including ex-agitators and youths from crisis impacted communities of the region graduated along side 6,886 students from different countries of the world in various courses  and honours.
Brigadier General  Boroh who was represented at the ceremony by the Chief of Staff to the Amnesty Office Col. Dedis Abel(Rtd) described Education as a veritable platform , the pivot of civilization and catalyst for the socio-economic growth and development of the Niger Delta. He emphasized that quality education provides a base for meaningful development of any society aspiring to grow.
"We at the Amnesty Office are determined and desirious of ensuring that delegates of the programne excell in their various fields of study as this will give the federal government the confidence to sustain the programme, which I must say is very expensive. The huge sums of money expended on the implementation of the  programme is paying off with successes recorded in the education component of the Amnesty Programme both home and abroad".                  The Amnesty boss General Boroh said  while the office remains grateful to President Muhammadu Buhari and the federal government for the programme, it continues to celebrate the delegates whose performances globally have been stunning in many ways.
This set of beneficiaries  commenced their sponsorship  university degree programme in 2013 in pursuit of degrees in sciences, Social sciences and Information Technology among other courses. It is important to stress that Over ninety percent of student delegates studying abroad will graduate by the end of the year from seventy three universities across the UK, USA, Asia , South Africa and Europe.
These institutions overseas are engaged by the Presidential Amnesty Office for delegates educational and overall capacity to be developed .
